From Grammar and Geometry to the Golden Years!
The historic Cony High School has taken on a new life as a unique, vibrant 55-plus apartment community, created with the young-at-heart in mind.
Built from the mid 1920s-early 1930s, the former Cony High School is referred to as a “flatiron” building due to its wedge-shaped (or “flatiron”) shape. Used as the city’s public high school through 2006, the three-story building has recently been restored and repurposed as a one-of-a-kind community for active senior citizens.
About the Area
As Maine’s capital city, Augusta is vibrant with history and culture. From its redeveloped riverfront and downtown to its world-class medical facilities and public schools, Augusta is the perfect place to spend a visit… or a lifetime.
First inhabited by English settlers from the Plymouth Colony back in 1629, Augusta would ultimately make its mark in the industrial sector. By the mid to late 1800s, the city was home to at least ten sawmills as well as a paper and pulp plant, lumber yards and a publishing and shipping center.
Today’s Augusta hasn’t lost that “small town America” feel, with its quaint sidewalks, its many parks and walking trails and its friendly locals.
Rents are currently as follows 1 Bedroom $622 – $740 and 2 Bedroom $735 -$ 878
